I hate talking about this..because I am supposed to be the extreme couponer…Chrystie the girl who ALWAYS gets a deal and who uses coupons like a ninja…but I have a confession..I haven’t couponed in weeks…maybe months. I have a severe case of couponing burnout.
Couponing burnout happens to everyone at one point or another. We get so excited about couponing and saving money that it becomes the biggest priority in life. We love the thrill of a good deal and are scouring the web looking for deals. And then at some point…it crashes….and couponing burnout takes over. That’s exactly where I am and have been for a while now. I looked at my measly stockpile yesterday and couldn’t believe that I ran out of Starbucks K-Cups? I RAN OUT….that never happens to Starbucks K-cups in my house. But because I haven’t been keeping up with my stockpiling…it finally caught up with me and now today I’m going to have to go out and buy Starbucks K-Cups for way more than I normally pay. I feel guilty about this..because I’m the one who is supposed to be in charge of the family’s finances and to some degree I feel like I’m letting them down by NOT making better buying decisions lately.
Here is my plan going forward on how to beat this couponing burnout:
1. Make a list of items I’m running low on, keep an eye out for sales for those items only
2. Make at least one trip a week to the grocery stores, drug stores and Walmart or Target and pick up on the stock-up worthy items (as noted by the yellow star deals in my matchups)
3. Continue to make a meal plan to help organize my shopping list and cooking schedule.
Have you suffered from couponing burnout? Please leave me a message on Facebook and let me know what you did to beat it. Or just give me a Hell Yeah..if you feel this way too!
