I’m not sure how many of you use Gmail for your primary email address, but if you do, I’ve got a little trick for you!
Many times when we are signing up for freebies or to get access to coupons, we need to use our email address. And sometimes, for whatever reason, it’s handy to have more than one email address….especially if you are trying to get access to a limited coupon and it’s telling you that your email doesn’t match the password, so you have to start over with a new account. OR maybe you want to find out if companies are selling your email address as part of an email list.
Well here’s a trick that all of you gmail users can do:
Did you know that you can add a “+” sign to your email and then an identifier and it will be recognized as a completely new email address, YET Google is sophisticated enough to know that it’s still your email address and send you any email that comes to it?
For example, let’s say I was signing up for a FREE Garnier coupon, but I also wanted to figure out if they were going to spam me in return.
My normal email address: [email protected] but, I could use this to sign up for the coupon: email@example.com
Google would still recognize that it was MY email address and send any correspondence to [email protected] Cool, right?
