One of the most frequent questions I get asked when I tell people that I’m a blogger…is “How do you make money doing that”? Because making money with a blog is a little mysterious…I thought I would pull back the curtain on blogging and let you know how coupon bloggers make money.
1. Ads: There are ads on my site. These are put there by Google, or specifc brands and other advertising companies. Luckily, I don’t have to go out and search for all of these advertisers myself. Companies like Google negotiate the ad space on my behalf. All I have to do is put a snippet of code on my site and Google serves up ads. When people click on the ads or interact with the ads, that is when and how I earn money. Google throws me a few cents every time one of those ads is clicked.
2. Affiliate Relationships: I have partnerships with lots of third party affiliate companies (like this one, this one & this one) online stores, survey companies and coupon sites that allow me to get a little kick back when someone buys something, prints a coupon, or takes a survey.
3. Reviews: Occasionally, you will see a review on my site. These are usually paid reviews and noted as such in the blog post…you’ll usually see the words “#sponsored or #ads if it is paid. When I do reviews, I can get anything from free product, gift certificates or cash.
4. Coupon Classes: I also teach coupon classes in the local area for a fee (I sometimes do free ones too). Companies also hire me to come in and teach a coupon class for their employees as part of a financial wellness program or a morale day.
Now, that you know how I make money. I want you to rest assure that everything I post on this blog comes from my heart, I believe in every deal..which is why you won’t see every stinking deal on my blog or every offer. I won’t post deals that some other blogs will because I flat out don’t think it’s a good deal…or maybe I think the company is scammy! I’ve been blogging for 4 years now, you readers are like my family and I want to give you the best deals!
