I know what you are thinking, you are feeling underpaid and overworked and you stay up at night watching Shark Tank wondering how you can make more money. You’ve tried to move up in your career…you’ve asked your boss for a raise, but things aren’t moving as quickly as you’d like them to. You want more money because you want a bigger house, a new car, to take a vacation, or at the very least put food on the table. I’ve got a secret for you…you CAN give make more money…not by working more or getting a raise..but by saving money instead.
I coupon to save money, but I also coupon because it allows me to stay at home and run a blog. I don’t earn as much running a coupon blog as I would going out and getting an office job, but because I save money on coupons, it evens out.
Example: Let’s say you make $35,000 a year. Let’s take a look at some ways you can cut down your costs and save money:
- Start using coupons & shopping sales (Avg Savings: $5,000 year)
- Cut out cable & use Netflix, Hulu & Redbox (Avg Savings: $1000/year)
- Start shopping at Goodwill, Salvation Army & Garage sales for kids clothing ($500/year)
I could go on about all the little ways that you can save, but you can see that I just got your a $6,500 dollar raise by showing you how to save on those 3 areas of your life!
Now, it’s your turn. How have you given yourself a raise?
