Before you read this post, I should note..I am not a trainer, a dietician or nutritionist…I’m just a mom who’s had 2 kids and has been through the whole ‘gotta lose the baby weight battle‘…here are a few of my tips based on my experience:
1. Breastfeed – I’m not a breastfeeding nazi…I do believe that every mom can make up her own mind about how to feed their baby…but I will say that in my prior experience with my two children, breastfeeding, sure as heck helped me lose the baby weight fast. Breastfeeding burns up to 500 calories a day (Sadly, I learned that on last week’s episode of JWOWW & Snooki) and can greatly help you lose those extra pounds.
2. Join a Stoller Gang or Start One – I secretly want to be in a ‘stroller gang’ and I might try to start one after baby is born :) I have this picture in my hand of a gaggle of new moms with their jogging strollers walking (or limping) to the beat of some rap song through the neighborhood. LOL. Get your new momma friends together and make it a daily or weekly event that you all get together and meet at a park and go on a long brisk walk, jog or run. Misery…and weight loss love company!
3. Join a Gym – I know what you are thinking…”when the hell do I have time to go to the gym with a new baby?” Point noted. But, if you can work something out with your hubby, taking an hour out of your day a few times a week, will do wonders for your health both physically & mentally. You could join something like Curves, a gym for women, which helps you get a workout routine, meal plan and are there to encourage you. It’s nice to be surrounded by women when you just had a baby..and are feeling insecure about your body!
